Honor a Veteran

CRITERIA
All United States veterans, including officers and enlisted personnel, who have honorably served in the United States Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Air Force and WWII Merchant Marines are eligible for inclusion on the Veterans Walls

AVAILABILITY OF PLAQUES
The six original Veterans Walls at the Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial have been completely filled. However, the recent addition of five new Veterans Walls will allow availability for the next six to seven years.

PLAQUE SIZES

Plaques for individual veterans are available in three sizes:
  •  16 inches wide by 8 inches deep ($1,800 donation)
  •  12 inches wide by 8 inches deep ($1,200 donation)
  •  8 inches wide by 8 inches deep ($950 donation)

Plaques for military organizations/groups (ship regiments, squadrons, divisions, unit, etc.) are available in two sizes:
  •  16 inches wide by 8 inches deep ($1,800 donation)
  •  12 inches wide by 8 inches deep ($1,200 donation)

Plaques for non-military corporations and organizations are available in two sizes:
  •  16 inches wide by 8 inches deep ($1,800 donation)
  •  12 inches wide by 8 inches deep ($1,200 donation)

The Mt. Soledad Memorial Association is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) corporation -- plaque donations are 90% tax deductible!
  •  16-inch plaques: $1,618 is tax deductible
  •  12-inch plaques: $1,042 is tax deductible
  •  8-inch plaques: $818 is tax deductible

HOW TO DONATE A PLAQUE

Follow these easy steps to obtain a plaque for a veteran:
Contact the Mt. Soledad Memorial Association, Inc., by phone or email donation (8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Thursday; 8 a.m. – noon, Friday, PST)

Have documents ready for submission:
  •  Veteran’s honorable discharge papers (DD 214). If you do not have the Veteran’s DD 214 discharge papers, you can obtain a copy at www.archives.gov/veterans. (If you have difficulties, our staff will assist you.)
  •  A photo of the veteran *
  •  Plaque Size
  • The original photo will be returned to the sender when the order is complete.

The Plaque Designer will contact you if there are questions or if additional information is needed and to review the design. Office personnel work closely with the family to make the plaque development a simple and enjoyable experience. Once final approval is provided, your plaque will be completed and ready for installation.

And, don’t forget: the plaque donation is 90% tax deductible.
