MILITARY HEROES

God bless our military heroes

Who show valour in times of strife

Duty to their country is sacred

And honor is more than life

Fidelity, trust and honor

Are traits to keep and to give

For those who serve our country

They form the code by which they live

Those who serve in times of war

And those who serve in times of peace

They are the watchdogs of our nation

Their vigilance will never cease

Patriots fill the military ranks

Where courage and bravery are rife

When duty calls no risk is too great

For their country they would give their life

Freedom is an American treasure

But it was paid for with a price

By brave young soldiers and sailors

Who made the ultimate sacrifice

We should say a prayer of thanks to God

When we see our country's flag unfurled

For those who fought to preserve our freedom

On the battlefields of the world

As we remember our fallen heroes

Their loss we still regret

But they willingly died for freedom's cause

And we must never forget
