He was the only Astronaut to fly in the first three Space Missions...Mercury, Gemini and Apollo. Family members will be in attendance. Commemoration by Mark Larsen, close family friend and KCBQ Radio Talk Show Host. Keynote Speaker, RADM William French, Commander, Navy Region Southwest. Flyover by San Diego Salute T-34 Formation Team.

Having previously served in the US Marine Corps and as a San Diego Sheriff Corrections Officer, Rico, a San Diego. Police SWAT officer, was mobilized with the US Army Reserves and deployed to Afghanistan. OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Veterans Honor Ceremony for Commander Neil V. Campbell a Navy veteran of Korea-Vietnam. Neil started his career on the USS Foss-DE59 in Korea. He later flew various aircraft in several squadrons including VFAW-3 and VF-162.

Veterans Honor Ceremony for Musician First Class Gordon T. Gaines a Navy veteran of World War II. Gordon participated in two major Pacific battles between entertaining the ship's crew playing songs made popular by Glen Miller, Tommy Dorsey and other "Big Bands" from the World War II era.
