It’s a simple process to obtain a plaque for placement on the Veterans Memorial Walls.
- Secure a copy of the veteran’s discharge papers, DD-214. If not available, a family member may obtain discharge documentation information from the government at www.vetrecs.archives.gov.
- Locate a photo of the veteran. Select the size plaque you would like to purchase. Plaque sizes and costs can be obtained by calling the Association office at (858) 459‑2314 or by visiting the Mt. Soledad Memorial Association website, www.soledadmemorial.com.
- Make an appointment to meet a plaque designer at the Mt. Soledad Memorial Association office at 6437 Caminito Blythefield, Suite B, La Jolla, CA 92037 – (858) 459‑2314.
- Take documentation, veteran’s photo and your check to the office and the plaque development process will be underway.
- The plaque designer will contact you within two weeks for you to review the design. Once final okay is provided, the plaque will be completed and ready for installation in three to four weeks.
The office personnel work closely with the family to help make the plaque development a simple experience. A special bonus, the plaque cost is 90% tax deductible and the purchase comes with a one year Associate Family Membership valued at $75.
